I Had a GSXR1000 that I loved but it hurt my wrists to ride, so I got a GSX1400, which I loved and thought was a awesome street bike, but a little lacking in HP, then I saw a Diavel, must have been one of the first sold here and I was in love instantly, It took me a year to be in a position to test ride one as im very impulsive and knewe if I liked the ride i'd buy it there and then, so I test rode a diamond black, with termi slipon no baffles and fuck me it was fun, scared some guy so bad he nearly fell of his bicycle just from the sound coming up behind him. I had to have it so went back and ordered my Diamond Black, with the termi slip on. That was almost 2 years ago and 18000km's ago, love it more with every ride or modification I do.

I wanted a new bike. I was feeling too old for the sport bike position.
I liked the V-Max. Then this came out.
I went and looked at one. I should have bought it then because the dealer knocked off $1000, Came back a month later and he would only take off $500 so I bought a Diamond black that took another month to show up.

I had been away from riding for a while. In '05 got back in, thinking of an '05 V-Max. I decided that was a bit much for VT twisties, and was looking for a 599 Honda. Yamaha/Honda dealer had a FZ6 at a good deal, so I bought it. B/H did not like pillion on FZ6, and suggested a HD or GoldWing. I may be old, but not that old!

Looked at HD and picked out a VRSCF Muscle sitting hidden in a corner, with windshield, back rest and bags. B/H much happier on back. 125 hp & 9,000 rpm is pretty good for a HD. Later saw the Diavel, and decided it would be my next bike - after the VRod dies - it is a HD...

Dealer had the -$2000 deal on 2013s, and I like the red... B/H says "why not get it." So I did a 2 for 1 trade, getting rid of the XR650L and the FZ6. XR650L was really pretty tall, and FZ6 was neglected. And the rest is history...

I had an FJR that was just too much of a pig at 670 wet considering the seat height.
I don't ride 2 up, so didn't need that much bike.
At 540 wet the Strada model is just enough of a light tourer for what I do.
I was really impressed that it's no more weight or heft than my old 1200 Bandit.
One test ride, and I was done.
The rest is history

As an old California off road Husky amateur dirt racer from the seventies, the Strada is the perfect transition. Same riding position and crazy power to weight ratio. The sound at stop light idle is exactly like the old BSA Gold Star 500cc single. In my humble opinion, no other motorbike out there has any of this kind of character.

Just added a PCV w/ the Shift tech exhaust. The bike runs and sounds like a BEAST.Why the Diavel?-uploadfromtaptalk1426143569385.jpg

I Ride: Diavel Carbon Red MY14 "Audrey"
@ relate: that exhaust is amazing!

My turn to tell my tale.
Last summer I decided to step on a bike again after more than 15 yrs. I thought, "Well, I gotta get something easy to scrap the rust off my wrist, if you know what I mean, but also funny, not to get bored in a nanosecond. Something used, not to spend too much, and with a good market, so I can sell it easily if I find out I don't like bikes anymore".
Therefore, I found a 2008 696 Monster - and the one who was afraid not to like bikes anymore scored 7000 km in three months. So, it was time for a step up...

I always loved the Diavel. Rationally, I thought I would have purchased an 821 Monster, which for the way I ride was probably more suitable to me. But. But I have this friend of mine who is a salesperson at the Ducati Factory Store in Bologna (exactly, just near the Factory and the Museum), and she told me "Hey, G, I have this thing here... MY14 Carbon Red, we just used it for a Ducati Official Event, the World Ducati Week 2014, and it has just 10 miles... Numbered and signed by Michele Pirro (Ducati SBK tester) who used it at the event... whaddya think?"
To cut a long story short, the week after I was testing it in Bologna, falling desperately in love and signing the contract. I got back to Bologna two weeks ago to get it, and now in just 8 days (the other 6 it was raining cats and dogs, damn!) I already scored 1000 km, and counting!
