Fuel Leak

Hi, I purchased a Diavel Strada 4 months ago, Now has only 400klms on it, its my first Ducati and i love it. went for a ride the other day and when i arrived home i could smell a strong fuel smell, After closer inspection i found a leak from the petrol tank. on the rear right hand side there is a nut insert that holds the tank side plates on, it seems to be leaking from this area. I did a quick google on the net and found the same fault on several other Diavel's. 2 questions, 1 Has anyone else had this same issue and 2. shouldn't there be a recall on this as in my case the fuel leaks onto the exhaust.

I had the same mate, went back to dealer and tank was replaced, just one of those things that happen. Hope they fix it quick for you.

Hey Johnno
Yeah they did fix it, took 2 weeks. however since i purchased the bike the dealer has had a change of ownership and the new owners were not very interested in giving me any type of service. They did not clean up the marks/residue the fuel has left on the bike and were very rude. anyway i will avoid going back to them if i can dealer was gold coast ducati in QLD Australia.

Yeah dealers generally suck, when you find a good one hang on to them.

Just adding my experience with that same unscrupulous Ducati / Triumph dealer at Nerang, QLD who ripped me off $500 doing a simple repair on my Triumph that should have been fully covered under warranty. They truly are thieving bastards and liars & I will never spend a cent there again.

you purchase 4 month ago, then there is no problem by the dealer to change the fuel tank.
